Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,
I'm happy to share version 2.0 of the Maltese Quran app ("Il-Quran bil-Malti"), now live on Google Play. It's the first — and currently only — Qur'an app in the Maltese language.

About the project:
The app is based on Il-Qoran Imqaddes, the academic Maltese translation by Martin R. Zammit and Muhammad El-Sadi, first published in 2008 by the World Islamic Call Society. It brings the complete Qur'an — all 114 surahs, 6,236 verses — to Maltese-speaking Muslims in a free, fully offline, and private reading experience (no ads, no analytics, no data collection).
What's new in v2 (major update):
Redesigned, YouVersion-style reader with continuous scrolling
Optional Arabic (Uthmani) text shown alongside Maltese in verse-by-verse mode
6 reading themes (light, warm, dark) + Source Serif, Inter, and OpenDyslexic fonts
New home screen: Verse of the Day, Du'a of the Day, and a reading streak tracker
78 curated Qur'anic du'as organized by theme
Bookmarks, color highlights, and mark-as-read, all saved locally
Diacritic-insensitive Maltese search (e.g. "hniena" finds "ħniena")
Surah/verse picker, haptics, and improved status bar theming
A note on support:
I want to be transparent — the itqan team didn't provide direct technical or official support for this project. That said, being part of this community and seeing the work shared here gave me real moral encouragement to keep building. So while the code and integration are my own effort, some of the motivation belongs to this space.
I'd welcome any feedback — especially from anyone with experience in minority-language Qur'an translation, offline app architecture, or localization work or if anyone needs any support in this from this servant of Allahs book
JazakumAllahu Khairan 🙏
