Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,
I'd like to share a new release: Quran Urdu WBW, a word-by-word Qur'an reader built specifically for Urdu speakers.
🔗 Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.quranwbw.app
About the app:
The Arabic text is shown word by word with Urdu meanings directly beneath each word, so readers can follow the Arabic while understanding it in their own language as they go. Tapping any word opens deeper study tools: root, occurrence count, and color-coded morphology.
Key features:
All 114 surahs in Uthmani Arabic script
Word-by-word Urdu meanings, plus optional English glosses and transliteration
Full verse translations in Urdu (Fateh Muhammad Jalandhari)
Tap-to-study: root, morphology, and grammar category per word, with color-coded word segments (verbs, nouns, pronouns, etc.)
Search in Urdu, Arabic, or English
Bookmarks, multi-color highlights, and personal notes per ayah
Copy/share verses with Arabic and translation
Light, sepia, and dark themes; adjustable Arabic font size; Amiri Quran and Noto Nastaliq Urdu fonts
Reference jump (A–Z, 1–9, recently viewed)
No accounts, no ads, no analytics — bookmarks and notes stay on-device; offline reading once content is loaded
Sources: Quran.com API, the Quranic Universal Library, Fateh Muhammad Jalandhari's Urdu translation, and morphology data from the Quranic Arabic Corpus.
A note on support:
As with this Quran app, this was built without direct official support from the itqan team — but being part of this community and seeing the work shared here has been a real source of moral encouragement to keep building these tools.
Feedback welcome, especially from Urdu speakers or anyone with experience in word-by-word Qur'an interfaces or morphology data.
JazakumAllahu Khairan 🙏
