Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,
I'd like to propose that we set up a Discord server for مجتمع إتقان (Itqan Community).
Why Discord?
Real-time discussion — forum threads are great for structured posts, but a lot of us are building/debugging/iterating fast (like the Maltese Quran and Quran Urdu WBW apps or QUSX), and quick back-and-forth questions get lost or take too long here.
Dedicated channels — we could organize by topic: app showcases, dev help, translations/localization, du'a & content review, feedback requests, general discussion, announcements, etc.
Voice channels — for anyone who wants to jump on a quick call to pair-debug, review a UI, or talk through a feature instead of writing a long post.
Lower barrier for newcomers — easier for people to drop in, ask a quick question, and get a fast answer without formatting a full topic.
Keeps this forum clean — long-form writeups, releases, and documentation stay here; Discord becomes the "workshop" space for everything in-between.
What I'm proposing:
I (or anyone with experience) set up a basic server structure with a few starter channels.
We share the invite link here once it's ready.
Forum stays the "official" home for announcements/releases — Discord is just for faster day-to-day coordination.
If others in the community are open to this, I'll go ahead and get the server started. Let me know your thoughts, channel ideas.
JazakumAllahu Khairan 🙏
