First of all, Jazakum Allahu Khairan to the developers and maintainers for your amazing work on this community. It is highly beneficial for the Ummah, and I really appreciate the effort you put into it.
I am opening this post to propose an enhancement for the audio playback and text synchronization features. I would like to suggest integrating a powerful new open-source dataset called Qur'anic Universal Audio, developed by brother Ahmed Ibrahim.
🎯 The Proposal
Currently, the apps on the community and playstore highlights the text ayah-by-ayah while the audio plays. By utilizing this new dataset, the app could upgrade to highly accurate word-by-word or even letter-by-letter highlighting.
This would massively improve the user experience, especially for Tajweed learning and precise follow-along reading.
📦 About the Data
The dataset provides highly accurate timestamps down to the phoneme level (letter, word, and ayah) for many popular reciters.
- Formats: It includes ready-to-use JSON files containing the exact timing alignments, alongside the audio files.
- Open Source: It is completely free and open for the community to use.

🛠️ Technical Implementation
The JSON structure is designed to be easily parsed by Android apps. Integrating this would allow the app to implement advanced speech and text features that stand out in the Play Store.
